How did the gods become important?

Some gods were once human pharaohs such as Osiris, and were once worshipped. Ancient Egyptians were to believe that if they they did not, they would be cursed and have bad fortune for life. Egpytians also believed that if they did not pray to the gods, the great gods and goddesses would not bring the flood of the Nile River, and would starve.

  1. So Osiris became important because he was worshiped? Why would the egyptions have bad luck if they did nat worship Osiris.
