How did the gods become important?

Some gods were once human pharaohs such as Osiris, and were once worshipped. Ancient Egyptians were to believe that if they they did not, they would be cursed and have bad fortune for life. Egpytians also believed that if they did not pray to the gods, the great gods and goddesses would not bring the flood of the Nile River, and would starve.

Why Seth killed Osiris

Osiris was once a human pharaoh of Egypt, and Seth was jealous of all of Osiris's power over Egypt. Seth tried killing Osiris many times. Seth tried putting Osiris in a coffin and scattering pieces of him over Egypt but, that did not work. After Osiris became god of the underworld, Horus, god of government, was Osiris and Isis's son. Horus was next in line for the thrown but, Seth refused, and challenaged Horus to a battle but, Horus won. That's also how Seth became god of evil.

Osiris was once a human pharaoh of Egypt and Osiris's brother, Seth, was jealous of all power so, one day Seth tried putting Osiris in a coffin and float him on the Nile River but, Isis, Osiris's sister/ wife found his coffin and his Osiris's coffin in Lower Egypt where Seth could not find him. Later on, Seth found Osiris's coffin and tore Osiris in 14 pieces and scattered them over all Egypt. Isis again, found out about this and looked for all of these pieces, and collected them. One night Isis, god of magic, brought Osiris back to life and that's how Osiris became god of the underworld.

Wow, that's alot, especially the important ones.Ra ,Orisis ,Isis,Seth ,Anubis ,Horus ,Thoth ,and Khnum. Ancient Egyptians belived to keep the gods and goddesses happy or they would be punished.Every year, the people in egypt prayed to the gods that they would recieve flood from the Nile River.

Ra took a dailey journey across the sky in his sun boat.Helloooo, this is the 20th centuary here...At night Ra would go through the underworld to bring night. But, Ra would have to fight monsterous creatures.(is it just me, or is this like Monster's Inc? Osiris, god of the underworld, would protect Ra through his journey everyday from the dead. Osiris was one of the important gods too. Isis, god of magic, was Osiris wife and sister. Isis was the most important godess that ancient egyptians worshipped.
